During the show, Emily reveals she would come home to her husband John Krasinski writing about murders in their hit film A Quiet Place.
“He was writing A Quiet Place at the time and I would come home full of joy having danced with penguins and he would emerge from his writer’s den, or ‘cave of horror,’” Emily jokes. “He’d be like, ”I’ve just killed a kid on page three!’”

Emily Blunt attended a special press conference for her anticipated film Mary Poppins Returns held at the Montage Beverly Hills on Wednesday (November 28) in Los Angeles.
The actress was joined by her co-stars Lin-Manuel Miranda, Ben Whishaw and Emily Mortimer, as well as co-lyricist Scott Wittman, composer-co-lyricist Marc Shaiman, producers Marc Platt and John DeLuca, screenwriter David Magee and director-producer Rob Marshall.
At the press conference, Emily admitted that she “loves” that her husband John Krasinski revealed to Ellen DeGeneres on her show that he uncontrollably cried during his first screening of the film.
“[He’s an emotional guy] but in a sort of cool way,” Emily expressed (via ET). “I love that, when guys cry. I think it’s a beautiful thing, [when they’re] not so tough, yeah! Ben Whishaw’s first song is so gorgeous when he’s talking about the loss of his wife. I think he sort of cried from then on wards, you know. He’s still crying now. He kept saying, ‘What’s happening to me?’ when he was watching it.”
Emily Blunt was joined by her 39-year-old A Quiet Place co-star and husband John Krasinski and her 38-year-old Mary Poppins co-star Lin-Manuel Miranda at the 2018 Governors Awards on Sunday night (November 18) at the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood.
Emily stars in the titular role of Mary Poppins.
In the movie, due out in theaters on December 19, the magical nanny returns decades after her original visit to help the Banks siblings and Michael’s children through a difficult time in their lives.
